Procreate lets me do the vast majority of illustration, design, and creation tasks with a portable digital studio on my iPad.
Procreate has added more features over the years. Often what would have required a trip to Photoshop is now included within Procreate, or the tasks can be completed using the tag team approach of Procreate with the Photos app.
Procreate my digital pocket knife.

Cover for a tickets and voucher packet issued by a travel agency. Various patterns and textures created both within and outside of Procreate were utilized.

Coopers Hawk's Morning Break. Hawks enjoy the bird bath in the garden all year long, often emerging with wet feathers after a long soak.

Conversational Birds. An etude of using patterns and blend modes within Procreate.

Texture House. An etude using watercolor textures within a digital painting.

Jeep at the launderette, Kauai. Mixed media, graphite and markers on paper, digital embellishments. Time well spent during the wash and spin cycles.

Calavaras based on the larger than life la dama y el pintor in Old Town San Diego.

This crowing bird of paradise (Strelitzia Reginae) had quite the cockscomb and deserved to be in my bird of paradise studies.

This sketch of a dandelion was my first sketch using Procreate. I had previously used another painting app - art studio - and was familiar with digital painting concepts, but not the navigation within Procreate.

Fig eater beetles have a bright green iridescent coloration that appears in bright light. They are harmless and enjoy munching on the prickly pear cactus fruit as it ripens and ferments.

This fish etude was completed prior to the start of Riley Peter's "Fin, Fur, and Feathers" class. Never hurts to get in some practice before the start of a class.

Forest with Charred Log was completed en plein air on Mount Lemmon. I kept to a David Hockney iPad style that day and had a great time with the paintings.

I painted this handsome - from a distance - javalina during Riley Peter's "Fin, Fur, and Feathers" Procreate class that she offered via The Drawing Studio in Tucson. The javalina is a beast best seen and not smelled.

Kauaʻi Beach. The colors of the sky and the water were constantly changing, but it is so relaxing to observe the waves against the shore.

A quick morning sketch over coffee observing the breakfast clutter on the countertop.

This night blooming Peruvian Apple Cactus has huge blossoms at night. The painting is a salute to Mary Blair and her use of color and shape.

This painting of the plumeria "California Sunset" was a quick study experimenting with different strokes to capture the variation of the foliage and blooms.

This tropical bird of paradise nested outside our hotel room in San Diego. The twin florescents bloom was intriguing - not your typical bird of paradise blossom.
